Man Utd staff ‘impressed’ as Pogba issues ‘rallying call’

Manchester United staff have been left ‘impressed’ by Paul Pogba after he gathered the first-team squad together to issue a ‘rallying call’ to the players, according to reports. Around £140million was spent during the last transfer window to bring in defenders Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka plus winger Daniel James. However, their investment hasn’t turned into results on the pitch with United only managing two wins in their first six matches of the new Premier League season.

And The Sun claims that Pogba has taken it ‘upon himself to boost spirits’ ahead of United’s Monday night Premier League clash against Arsenal. A source told The Sun: “Paul got all the players together and has been speaking to them about sticking together. “He has been in good spirits of late and is still pulling for Ole. He initiated a sort of rallying call to the boys. “He knows he has a lot of responsibility and trying to inspire the younger guys around him.

“The backroom staff are impressed and been appreciated while he has been out injured.” Pogba was keen on a move away from Old Trafford this summer and his situation is being monitored by a host of top European clubs including Juventus and Real Madrid. Pogba currently has two years left on his contract, and United have an option to sign him for another year after that. A recent report in Italy claimed the midfielder, who is currently on around £300,000-a-week, wants that amount increased massively to around £600k-a-week.
